Do You Want A Pharmaca Pharmacy In Normandy Park? The City Does…

In the City of Normandy Park’s most recent City Manager’s Report (PDF file), Doug Schulze wrote about Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, and how the city is encouraging them to open a branch in Normandy Park.

As many of our Readers know, after 51 years of service, Manhattan Drugs closed in May, 2009 (read our coverage here), leaving the city without a pharmacy.

“Pharmaca offers traditional pharmacy services alongside holistic remedies so customers can choose how they want to approach their health care,” Schulze wrote. “Currently, Normandy Park residents must travel outside their community to purchase prescription drugs, holistic and naturopathic medicines.”

The city’s newsletter links to an online petition (www.ipetitions.com/petition/pharmaca_np), where residents can vote on whether to encourage Pharmaca to open in Normandy Park or not. The petition reads:

Normandy Park, Washington lost its only pharmacy in 2008 when Manhattan Drug Store closed. Currently, Normandy Park residents must travel outside their community to purchase prescription drugs, holistic and naturopathic medicines. Normandy Park residents are typically active, healthy and concerned about our environment. Normandy Park Towne Center is currently leasing space to new tenants and would be an ideal location for a pharmacy. We therefore request Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy strongly consider opening a store in Normandy Park, Washington to serve the residents of Normandy Park and nearby neighborhoods. This petition will be mailed (U.S.P.S. and electronically) to Pharmaca on April 28, 2011. If you support our efforts to recruit Pharmaca to Normandy Park, please add your signature below.
