Here’s the Schedule for Normandy Park’s 4th of July Celebration

The City of Normandy Park released the following info and schedule for this year’s 4th of July celebration, including the Fun Run:

Bring your family and friends to the annual 4th of July community celebration.

The day begins at 10:25 a.m. with a 2.8K Fun Run, which is only as competitive as you make it. It’s free, but you are encouraged to pre-register. The course is from Marvista Elementary to Marine View Drive & Shoremont. Runners, be sure to arrive at the starting area before 10:15am as number pick up will close at that time. This year’s custom designed race t-shirt can be ordered in advance by all runners for pick up at the finish line. Non-runners may purchas any left over shirts at the end of the race. At 10:30 a.m. the Children’s Parade leaves Marvista parking lot Everyone is welcome to join in, either from the start (be at Marvista n later than 10:15!) or from anywhere along the parade route, whic ends at the Cove building. Classic cars, floats, wagons, bicycles strollers, marching bands – – all are encouraged to participate. Pain your face, decorate your bike, get out your flags; be festive or plain Please, however, no campaigning or political signs. The Normand Park Arts Commission will once again offer children prizes for th best decorated bicycles.

Once everyone arrives at the Cove after the parade (at approximately 11:15 a.m.), They are invited for free Ice Cream. To satisfy you lunchtime hunger, we plan to offer hot dogs and beverages. The field will be lined with Classic Cars and, appropriately located away from the vintage autos, along with large blow up toys and temporary tattoos for the youngsters. All of this will be accompanied by Liv Patriotic Music on the lawn.

Volunteers are always needed to assist with the activities. If you ca help, please contact the Cove office ASAP . This event is a great opportunity to reconnect with friends and neighbors before going on your way to your own, private 4th of July celebration.
