Y.E.T.I. – a local non-profit that engages youth in the outdoors – is partnering with Sound Experience for an extraordinary overnight sailing program on the uber-cool Adventuress Schooner open to 7th-9th graders the weekend of Sept. 14-15.
“We’ve chartered a historic schooner and crew to teach sailing to adolescents,” Organizer John Nelson told The B-Town Blog. “However, because of a scheduling conflict, we have some open slots for the weekend of Sept. 14-15.”
Cost is $200 per student/parent. There is a limited amount of scholarship money for fee reductions and waivers.
This is a co-ed trip with an equal balance of girls and boys aboard.
Schedule from the North Dock at Elliott Bay Marina (directions):
- Depart: Sat, Sept 14 at 9 a.m.
- Return: Sun, Sept 15 at 2 p.m.
The YETI vans will be departing Normandy Park City Hall at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 and will return by 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, if you want to avoid having to park in Seattle.
Space is limited to 24 (20 students/4 adults). Adventuress Student Info Packet
