UPDATE: Alzheimer’s Patient missing from Normandy Park found safe!

UPDATE 9:50 p.m. 10/13/13: “Great news everyone. Nancy has been found safe!” reads a post on the Normandy Park Police Chief Facebook page. “She walked to a house in the 19400 blk of 1st Ave and is now waiting for her husband to show up. Thank you to everyone who forwarded this story along and to those of you who provided tips to the Police Department.”


From the Normandy Park Police Chief Facebook page, Nancy Broderson, a 77-year old white female, 5-5/130 lbs, has gone missing from an Adult Care Facility in Normandy Park:

Normandy Park, Des Moines and Burien residents please be on the look out for the following person:

At approximately 5:30 p.m. today (Sunday, Oct. 13), a 77-year old white female walked away from an Adult Care Facility in the 19600 blk of 4th Ave SW. The female’s description is average height and weight with white hair. She is wearing a brown stripped long-sleeve shirt with brown pants and white shoes. She has walked away in the past and will circle the neighborhood. Police and facility staff are searching the area. If you see a woman matching this description please call 911. Her first name is Nancy.

The missing person has not yet been located. There is now a Fife PD Bloodhound team assisting with the search. Thanks to Chief Blackburn for providing the assistance.

The K9 track did not locate the missing woman. We have requested the assistance of King County Search and Rescue to help with locating Nancy. There may be an influx of people in your neighborhood. Please be understanding of searchers in your area.

The female was identified as Nancy Broderson, a 77 year old white female, 5-5/130 lbs.

A correction to the earlier clothing description is Khaki pants, not brown.
