The reception is for Anette Lusher, whose exhibit ‘Visual Impacts – A Journey of Discovery’ will be on display at City Hall through the end of August.
Lusher is a local artist who has traveled the world extensively. Personal experiences, struggles, joyful moments and the artist’s growth are evident in each of her paintings, in her sculptures as well as in her installations. The Artist strives to tell a story, to convey a special thought and to draw the viewer into her work. Most of her paintings are textured through layering, dribbling or pooling of paint, which has become Anette’s ‘Trademark’.
“Life is layered, and so are my paintings. Look closely, dive into my work, imagine, interpret it your own way then get lost in shapes, colors and forms. Make each piece your own.” A true statement since her works resonate with the viewer on many different levels. The execution of her work is superb, it shows the depth of Anette’s emotions, of her struggles as a person and as an artist, and even though Lusher has been facing hardship and adversities, her passion to create art drives her back into her studio constantly. “If you own one of my works, it is definitely your ‘personal piece’ for I never make copies, prints or duplicate my work in any way or fashion.”
The City of Normandy Park Arts Commission invites you to join us at this reception for refreshments, conversations with the artist and truly enjoyable surroundings. Visitors to City Hall can view the exhibit during business hours Monday through Thursday during July. Arts Commissioner Robert Frey curated and sponsored the exhibit and reception.
Thursday’s reception includes new works not shown before coupled with a 50% discount the day of the reception. At 7:30 Thursday, Anette will talk about her inspirations, drive and work techniques.
