Normandy Park Police, Port of Seattle Bomb Squad respond to report of grenade

On Monday (June 1) at approximately 1:40 p.m., Normandy Park Police were called to check on an old grenade (pictured above) that was found in a residence in the 200 block of SW 208th (map below).

Police arrived on scene and called out the Port of Seattle Bomb Squad, which investigated the possible bomb.

“There is no threat to public safety at this time and there will be no criminal investigation,” Police Chief Chris Gaddis said. “The Port of Seattle now has custody of the grenade. They will handle the destruction of the item.”
