Dept. of Ecology approves Normandy Park’s updated Shoreline Master Program

The Washington Department of Ecology announced Friday (Nov. 4) that it has approved Normandy Park’s updated Shoreline Master Program update, which establishes shoreline environment designations for different sections of the city’s three-and-a-half miles of Puget Sound waterfront.

Each area has associated permitted and restricted uses that reflect current land uses and protect existing ecological conditions.

The city has worked since 2009 with citizens, shoreline property owners and interest groups to develop the program. For more information, please see these websites:

Information also is available at the city’s Community Development Dept., 801 SW 174th St.
