City Manager’s Weekly Report
for week ending July 28, 2018

Leave your old cart at the curb. If you still have old Republic carts, please leave them at the curb Tuesday, July 31st. Crews will remove these containers once they have been serviced. Start using your new wheeled WM carts for waste and recycling once the old carts are collected. The colors are the same – gray for garbage, blue for recycling and green for yard waste. Learn more about WM and the new services available at

New WM service starts in August. As of August, Waste Management is your waste, recycling and yard waste service provider. The first day for residential collection is Tuesday, August 7.

Wave to your new driver August 7. Tuesday, August 7, is Waste Management’s first day in your neighborhood. The collection this week is for waste and recycling. The following week, WM will collect waste, recycling and yard waste. Remember to have all carts at the curb by 7am.

Gallon-for-gallon. Gallon-for-gallon, the residential rates from Waste Management are slightly lower than your old Republic rates. One difference, however, is that extra yard waste up to 96 gallons total is $3.00 per 32 gallon can or bag, except that the Waste Management contract provides for three storm events per year where customers can put out an extra 96 total gallons of yard waste for two (2) collection cycles for free.
