Old Dairy Queen building demolished to make way for new Starbucks

Demolition began Monday, Jan. 21 on the old Dairy Queen building located at 17827 1st Ave South in Normandy Park near the QFC.

This location will next serve up as home to a brand new Starbucks with a drive-through.

In 2010, plans were announced to turn that building into a new Subway, but that fell through and the property has sat unused until now.

The Blizzard of destruction drew a Dilly Bar of a big crowd, including the Manhattan Village property owners.

“This is an exciting new beginning for Manhattan Village, Normandy Park and coffee-lovers!” Normandy Park Councilmember Susan West said.

The new Starbucks is expected to open in April, 2019.

When is the projected completion date? What will go in the current Starbucks space?
