About BUFO
BUFO has grown into one of South King County’s most unique summer events, bringing together families, sci-fi fans, and the simply curious for a celebration of creativity and community.
It was founded in 2014 by John White, Executive Producer of the locally-produced film “The Maury Island Incident.” This award-winning, locally produced film chronicles an historic 1947 UFO sighting in the area and a subsequent encounter with what filmmakers consider to be the first-ever “Man in Black” experience associated with a UFO sighting. White conceived of BUFO as a way to extend this captivating story and engage the community through fun, quirky local events. White and his wife Shelli Park manage the event.
