The Highline Schools Foundation will host its 2026 Gold Star Bash on Thursday, Mar. 26 at Highline College, celebrating dozens of educators, staff members and volunteers nominated for the district’s annual Gold Star Awards.
This event will be held in the Student Union Building starting at 5:30 p.m.
According to the Highline Schools Foundation, this year’s awards received 171 nominations representing 145 individuals across 32 schools, programs and departments throughout Highline Public Schools.
Winners in several categories will be announced during the event, which recognizes people who support student success across the district. Categories include Alumni, Leadership, Operations Staff, Paraeducator, Rookie Teacher, Student Support, Teacher and Volunteer.
The Gold Star Bash will be held at Highline College and will include the recognition of nominees along with the announcement of award winners.
Sponsors supporting the event include Neighborhood Centro Kitchen, Georgetown Brewing Company, Alaska Airlines, Gesa Credit Union and the Highline College Foundation, according to the Highline Schools Foundation.
Additional category sponsors include Classic Eats for Alumni, Doug Meyers of Edward Jones for Leadership, Reliant Group and Ducky’s for Operations Staff, Print Place for Paraeducator, Burien Wellness for Rookie Teacher, Burien Dance Theatre for Student Support, Alaska Airlines for Teacher and the Van Family for Volunteer.
