SUMMARY:Larson Medical Aesthetics 'Cool Night Out' event will be Wed.\, Oct. 2
DESCRIPTION:SPONSORED: Join Burien’s Larson Medical Aesthetics on Wednesday\, Oct. 2\, from 4 – 6 p.m. for a ‘Cool Night Out’ event\, where you can have fun while learning how to freeze that fat and make it go away! \nStubborn fat deposits are annoying and often do not respond to diet or exercise. That’s where medical science can step in\, providing safe and comfortable solutions to address problem areas. One of the newest procedures is Coolsculpting\, harnessing a medically administered cooling process that kills the fat cells underneath the skin. Once crystallized\, the fat cells die and are naturally processed from your body. Over the following weeks\, patients see gradual results\, with the full transformation apparent after a few months. \nSound cool? It is! Now you can enjoy a fun evening event hosted by the friendly professional staff of Larson Medical Aesthetics and learn everything you need to know about the CoolSculpting procedure! Call (206) 966-6609 to reserve your spot today. \nAs an added bonus\, attendees will receive special pricing and 10 FREE units of Botox (R) and a gift bag with purchase! Can’t make it on the 2nd? No problem\, just schedule your personal consultation. For more information please visit them at LarsonMedicalAesthetics.com/CoolSculpting. \n \n \n\nDon’t wait… space is limited and you will not want to miss this fun and informative event – RSVP today!\n\nLarson Medical Aesthetics is located at 16122 8th Ave SW:

SUMMARY:Public Hearing on possible re-zoning of Normandy Park will be Thurs.\, Oct. 17
DESCRIPTION:The City of Normandy Park is considering implementing amendments to the City’s Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map and a concurrent area-wide rezone\,” and will be holding a Public Hearing on Thursday\, Oct. 17\, 2019. \nThis open meeting will start at 7 p.m. at Normandy Park City Council Chambers at City Hall\, located at 801 SW 174th Street (map below). \nAlso\, residents concerned about zoning changes are being encouraged to show up at the council meeting this Tuesday\, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. to speak during the Public Comment period. \nCity Manager Mark Hoppen said: \n“Review the Planning documents listed on the bottom of City of Normandy Park website (listed below). The first document on the list sums up what is being considered; all the documents completely describe the ideas to be considered by the public and the Planning Commission. There is no limit to how long this can take before the Planning Commission makes its recommendations to the City Council. There is no limit to how long the City Council can continue public discussion before deciding upon a course of action. \nSeveral areas along 1st Avenue are being considered for Comp Plan designation and correlated zoning changes that expand current commercial areas and uses. Why? So that Normandy Park might sometime in the future have a better chance of paying for basic services – especially police service – without having to resort to excess property taxes\, as is currently the case. \nThese ideas have been developing for several years and will be assessed by the public and appointed officials\, and then by elected officials. The chief issues for the public and appointed/elected officials to review and consider\, in my view\, are 1) are the areas proposed appropriate; 2) are buffers between commercial and residential uses and structural types sufficient; and 3) are the structural transitions (building heights and volumes) between potential commercial and residential uses acceptable. \nThe reason that comprehensive plan designations and zoning changes are displayed at this time is because both changes go hand-in-hand\, and to evaluate one\, a person has to consider the other. The comp plan can be considered by itself first\, but without knowing the details (the proposed zoning)\, the analysis task is all big picture. Transparency demands being able to look at a whole picture upfront.” \n2019 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN DOCKET DOCUMENTS:  \n\n2019-2 Docket Proposal – Future Land Use Map Amendment/Rezone Proposal \n2019-3 Docket Proposal – Future Land Use Map Amendment/Rezone Proposal \nDRAFT of Ordinance 999 – 2019 Comprehensive Plan Update \nDRAFT of Ordinance 1000 – 2019 Rezone \n\nHere’s full text of the announcement posted on the city’s website: \nREVISED PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE Ordinance No. 999 adopting \nAmendments to the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map Ordinance No. 1000 adopting\nConcurrent amending of the City’s Official Zoning Map for consistency with the Comprehensive Plan Amendments. \n7:00 p.m. Thursday\, October 17\, 2019 City Council Chambers\, Normandy Park City Hall\, 801 SW 174th Street Normandy Park\, Washington 98166 \nNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Normandy Park\, Washington\, will hold a public hearing on Thursday\, October 17\, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Normandy Park City Hall\, 801 SW 174th Street\, Normandy Park\, Washington 98166. The purpose of the hearing will be to take public testimony concerning Normandy Park Ordinance No. 999 and Ordinance No. 1000 for adoption of amendments to the City’s Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map and a concurrent area-wide rezone for consistency with the Comprehensive Plan. \nA copy of Ordinance No. 999 and Ordinance No. 1000 is available for review in the Normandy Park City Clerk’s office at Normandy Park City Hall\, by calling 206-248-8248\, or via email at bwall@normandyparkwa.gov. \nAll interested persons are invited to appear and testify at the public hearing on Thursday\, October 17\, 2019.
