SUMMARY:Seattle Christian School Open House will be Thursday\, Feb. 2
DESCRIPTION:SPONSORED: \nDiscover Seattle Christian School at the Prospective Family Open House for grades K-12 on Thursday\, Feb. 2\, 2023\, starting at 6:30 p.m. \n \nFor over 75 years\, Seattle Christian School has been educating students as the first non-denominational Christian school in the greater Seattle area. Drawing families from more than twenty communities across the South Sound region\, we are committed to developing the heart and gifts of each student. Over the last seven decades\, quality faculty and staff have invested in the next generation of servant leaders who will impact their world for Christ. \n \nSCS customizes the learning experience to honor each K-12 student’s unique story and background. Not only are students able to access the core academic offerings\, but there is also an array of options in the fine and performing arts\, athletics and extracurricular activities\, all led with a focus on building a foundation of faith in our students. High schoolers can earn college credits while completing their high school diploma through our Dual Credit Program and AP courses. Outside the classroom students serve both the local and global communities through our school-wide week of service called InterSCession as well as our ongoing partnership with World Vision to support students in Honduras. \n \nSCS is excited to welcome prospective families to our Open House on Feb. 2\, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. Faculty\, staff\, students and parents will be on hand to answer questions and provide campus tours of our beautiful 13-acre K-12 campus\, located just off I-5 in SeaTac. We’re excited to share why record numbers of families in the South Sound are choosing Seattle Christian School for their child’s Christ-centered education! \n \nFor more info\, please visit https://www.seattlechristian.org/. \nSeattle Christian School is located at 18301 Military Road S. in SeaTac: \n \nEDITOR’S NOTE: Sponsored Posts like this are paid\, “Native Advertisements” that help businesses and organizations improve their internet presence and all-important SEO. SUMMARY:Normandy Park City Council special meeting to appoint new Councilmember
DESCRIPTION:On Monday night\, Feb. 6\, 2023\, the Normandy Park City Council will hold a special meeting to fill a vacancy on the City Council. \nThe meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at City Hall\, and can also be viewed via Zoom at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83436429241. \nAs we previously reported\, Councilmember Michelle Sipes-Marvin resigned from Position #5 in January due to personal obligations. \nThe City Council will interview three applicants being considered for City Council position #5: \n\nBrian Volkert\nJack Lamanna\nMelissa Petrini\n\nWhen a vacancy occurs on the Council more than six months before the next election\, the City Council is responsible for appointing someone to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term. \nEach candidate review will have up to 15 minutes to be completed\, and will include a 3-minute comment period by each detailing what they deem as important\, with the remaining time spent as a question and answer period led by councilmembers. \nThe process currently used by Normandy Park is that interested residents submit an application expressing their interest\, the City Council interviews the candidates\, and then makes the final appointment. \n“The City Council needs to be timely in its selection process because they have 90 days to fill vacancies\,” the city said. “If this action is not completed in time\, the City Council loses its authority\, and King County Council will then have the authority to make the appointment.” \nThe meeting is open to the public. \n“I encourage you to review the agenda to learn more about the applicants\,” City Manager Amy Arrington said. \nDownload the full agenda packet here (PDF file).
