Get ready to beam up for a night of extraterrestrial excitement at “Saucers & Sass,” a one-night-only celebration of sci-fi spectacle, intergalactic trivia, and drag-fueled flair on Friday night, June 20, 2025, hosted by Explore Seattle Southside as part of MIBBB Fest 2025.
Hosted at the AMC Southcenter 16 Theater & Sky Mall by Seattle’s empress of extraterrestrial eleganza, Sativa the Queen, the evening will blast off with a screening of The Maury Island Incident — the award-winning film that investigates the mysterious events that lit the fuse on the “Summer of the Saucers” — followed by two companion shorts and an exclusive appearance by one of the film’s original producers.
After the credits roll, Sativa returns for a performance befitting the Queen of the Cosmos, followed by a trivia showdown packed with conspiracy theories, campy curveballs, and outrageous prizes. Sip something stellar and enjoy out-of-this-world snacks, snag a swag bag worth abducting, and battle it out for bragging rights across the galaxy—not to mention some fantastic prizes.
“With Saucers & Sass, we’re celebrating the creativity and quirkiness that define Seattle Southside with an evening full of one-of-a-kind entertainment that showcases our legendary history—all in one unforgettable event,” said Mark Everton, CEO of Explore Seattle Southside.
Costumes are highly encouraged for everyone joining this evening of all things unexplained, outrageous, and out-of-this-world. Space is limited!

About MIBBB Fest
Held each year in Des Moines, WA, MIBBB Fest commemorates history’s first alleged encounter with the so-called Men in Black, the infamous 1947 Maury Island Incident (which occurred when a Tacoma man claimed he saw flying objects while boating off Maury Island), and the top-secret government intervention that followed. This local festival was founded in 2022 by a small group of Des Moines residents, including Des Moines natives Steve and Melody Edmiston, who are passionate about sharing the fascinating stories of their hometown’s history.
