Residents of Normandy Park who subscribe to yard waste service through Waste Management will be allowed to dispose of extra storm debris at no additional cost on two upcoming collection days, city officials announced.
According to the City of Normandy Park, the special allowance will apply on Tuesday, March 17, and Tuesday, March 31, 2026, following a designated storm event that affected the area. During those two collection dates, single family residential customers may place up to 96 additional gallons of storm debris alongside their regular yard waste service without extra charge.
The additional allowance is roughly equivalent to three standard garbage cans or three kraft paper yard waste bags.
City officials said storm debris may include branches less than 4 inches in diameter, limbs and leaves. The materials must be placed in extra garbage cans clearly labeled “Yard Waste,” in kraft paper yard waste bags, or bundled with degradable string or twine.
Bundles must not exceed 2 feet in diameter and 4 feet in length, and they must weigh no more than 55 pounds.
