A new mural at the Marvista Park restroom in Normandy Park is officially complete, adding a colorful public art feature to one of the city’s community gathering spaces, according to the City of Normandy Park.

The mural transforms the restroom building into a public artwork celebrating Normandy Park’s natural beauty and winged wildlife, city officials said.

The city said the mural creates a welcoming space for residents and visitors and adds a new landmark within Marvista Park.

Officials encouraged community members to visit the park and see the mural in person, especially during the free “Music in the Park” concerts on Sundays starting at 5 p.m. through Aug. 30:

  • Aug. 9: Po’okela Street Band
  • Aug. 16: Leroy Bell and His Only Friends
  • Aug. 23: The Heats
  • Aug.30: Jazz Finale
    • 3 p.m.: Susan Pascal Quintet
    • 4:30 p.m.: The Wellstone Conspiracy
    • 6 p.m. :Pete Christlieb’s Tall and Small Band

“We hope this beautiful addition inspires community pride and provides the perfect backdrop for photos and memories for years to come,” the city said.

The city thanked Rocky Road Studios, the Normandy Park Arts Commission and others who helped bring the project to completion.
