Normandy Park residents will have a chance on Wednesday, Sept. 30 to weigh in on whether the city should help cover some of the costs of another community fireworks celebration planned for July 3, 2027.

The Normandy Park City Council will discuss the proposal during its quarterly Town Hall from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at City Hall (map below).

The discussion follows the city’s 2026 fireworks celebration, which was held July 3, 2026 as part of the America 250 celebration in partnership with the Normandy Park Community Club.

According to the city, thousands of people attended that event, which received overwhelmingly positive feedback from residents. Based on that response, the City Council is considering another public fireworks display in 2027.

Councilmembers hope to fund the fireworks show itself through private donations. However, the city said other costs would still need to be covered, including restrooms, traffic control, operational support, equipment and public safety staffing.

The council is seeking residents’ opinions on whether the city should contribute toward some of those expenses, if needed, to make the event possible.

Feedback gathered at the Town Hall will help guide future decisions about the proposed celebration, according to the city.

After the fireworks discussion, residents will be invited to raise other community issues, ask questions, share ideas and provide feedback to councilmembers.

The meeting is part of Normandy Park’s quarterly Town Hall series, which is intended to provide residents and councilmembers with an opportunity for informal, two-way conversations about city issues.
