Normandy Park is collecting food, household supplies and cash donations through Nov. 30 to support the Des Moines Area Food Bank, which also serves Normandy Park residents, according to the city’s food drive announcement.

Donations can be dropped off at Normandy Park City Hall (map below).

Those who prefer to give money can scan the QR code on the poster below to donate online.

Cash donations help the food bank purchase food at wholesale prices from nonprofit distributors and through bulk purchases with other South King County food banks, according to the announcement.

The drive, which began Oct. 6, identifies the following as its most needed food donations:

  • Healthy food options
  • Peanut butter
  • Tuna
  • Low sodium soup
  • Pasta
  • Canned corn
  • Rice
  • Cereal
  • 100% fruit juice boxes
  • Macaroni and cheese

The food bank also needs household and pet supplies, including:

  • Clean paper and plastic shopping bags without tears
  • Toilet paper
  • Diapers in sizes 4, 5 and 6
  • Soap
  • Laundry detergent
  • Dog food

Donations will also help the food bank operate seven vans that picked up more than 1.6 million pounds of donated food last year.
