A map has been released for this Sunday’s Father’s Day Car Show Cruise, the new, safer, traveling alternative to the usual Classic Car show held in downtown Burien in June.

While things may look and feel a little different because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Discover Burien still wants to invite everyone to come out, have fun, show off those cars, and enjoy our beautiful neighborhoods!

The Cruise is set to being in Normandy Park at 10 a.m. sharp, then wind its way through North Hill in Des Moines, then up through the Park, Three Tree Point, Gregory Heights, Downtown Burien and up to North Burien before returning to near the starting point (see map below).

Below is the route map (download a larger version here):

NOTE: We will be set up to do live video streaming of the cruise at the corner of SW 172nd Street & Maplewild Ave SW in Three Tree Point – if you’re cruising past us be sure to wave! (To watch our live feed, be sure to “Like” our Facebook page here).

    • The Cruise will start in Normandy Park at a parking lot located at 1st Ave South and SW 200th Street, with participants gathering at 9 a.m.
    • The cruise will begin at 10 a.m. sharp.
    • Each entry will be given a number for this year’s People’s Choice Award.
    • A pace car will be at the front to keep everyone at the same speed, as much as possible.

Organizers say that if attendees wish to watch from their homes or nearby streets, they encourage wearing face masks and observing the usual appropriate social distancing measures in order to keep everyone safe.

“This is also the case for all participants,” they added. “The goal here is to be safe and enjoy a classic car show – brought directly to their front steps! As such, please remain in your vehicle at all times along the route and do not encourage gathering. Thank you for being responsive in this unprecedented time.”

VOTING FOR ‘PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD’
Public voting will take place online following Sunday’s Father’s Day Car Show Cruise, where one car will receive the coveted ‘People’s Choice’ Award. An online video will be made public so that virtual viewers may vote as well. Voting closes at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2020.
