Be more ethical, you can never be ethical enough. Okay, that might be overkill, but it never hurts to review tenets of ethical responsibility for which local government leaders and employees are accountable. What are the statutory boundaries of emergency authority? Google RCW 43.06.220. The legislature and executive branches of Washington state government must agree every 30 days to extend the state emergency declaration and its current requirements. When not in session, there is an alternative procedure for both branches to work together to extend emergency declarations. See RCW 43.06.220 (4).
