Halloween enthusiasts in Burien have been flocking to a home at the corner of SW 135th Street and 8th Ave SW in the Chelsea Park neighborhood (map below) that’s turning heads with its elaborate and gory decorations, setting a new standard for spooky displays in B-Town.
Located on a quiet corner, the house has become a local attraction, drawing both admiration and gasps from visitors who don’t realize that some of the decorations are motion activated.
The “Burien Cemetery” yard features life-sized skeletons, gruesome zombies, and animated mannequins dressed as horror characters, all staged in chillingly realistic scenes.
Among the more unsettling details are limbs and hands that seem to be reaching out from the earth, a red-eyed growling dog, fake blood splatters and scary sound effects that add a graphic, horror-movie effect.
For those brave enough to visit, we believe the display will remain up through Halloween night, rain or shine.
Hats (and heads) off to the owners and decorators of this incredible display!
- WARNING: Young kids may find some of the decorations a bit too scary.
- Please be respectful of the surrounding residents.
