Normandy Park City Manager’s Report for week ending Nov. 22, 2024

Give your input on the proposed Sports Court Project at City Hall Park

The City Council has expressed its desire to build a sports court at City Hall Park, and they want to hear from residents.

Background

In early 2024, the City approved the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan (PROS Plan). This document establishes a 20-year plan to improve the City’s Park system. The number one ranked project was constructing a covered sports court at City Hall Park.

Proposed Project

Once completed, there will be two pickleball courts on the north side of City Hall. In addition, this project will include refurbishing the southside basketball courts and transforming them into one updated basketball court with some additional parking spaces. The City Council has decided the courts will be uncovered to minimize construction costs. The estimated completion date for this project is late 2025.
