SPONSORED:
Southminster Presbyterian Church, along with Normandy Park United Church of Christ invite all to come enjoy an evening of live theater beginning at 6 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 7, followed by a hot cocoa and cookies reception, at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. Admission to see “Gift of the Magi” is FREE, with donations of canned goods gladly accepted to benefit outreach ministries. Based on the beloved Christmas classic by O. Henry, this story is retold for the stage with great humor and insight.
“Jim and Della live in a gray city in a gray building next door to a gray cat. As they struggle to make ends meet, they are determined to find the perfect Christmas gifts for each other. In the process they fill their gray world with joy, light and laughter and remind us all that sacrifice, humor and grace are the greatest gifts of all.”
Performance running time is 35 minutes. Hot cocoa, locally made treats and warm hospitality will follow the performance. All are welcome. You may RSVP using this link:
