Bloodworks Northwest has announced the 2025 launch of “1000 Thank Yous,” its three-month campaign to express gratitude for the efforts of donors across the Pacific Northwest and to highlight the critical need for blood.
Bloodworks Northwest serves as the primary blood supplier to hospitals across Washington and Oregon. From Bellingham and Seattle to Eugene and Southern Oregon, it collects, tests and distributes blood to 95% of hospitals in the region.
The community blood supply in the Pacific Northwest relies on the support of 1,000 people walking through its blood drives and donation center doors every day to meet the demands of hospitals in the region. Despite approximately 10% of those donors being deferred for various reasons, the continuous flow of approximately the other 900 donors daily is essential to ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need. The “1000 Thank Yous” campaign is meant as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for this selfless act of giving.
During the campaign, Bloodworks Northwest is saying thank-you to its donors through with a chance to win one of three trips to Hawaii. With the generous help of sponsors Delta Airlines and Hyatt, those who donate through the end of April are eligible to receive on one of the following:
- Donate in February for the chance to win a trip to Oahu, with roundtrip airfare, a three-night stay in an Ocean View Room at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa, and a choice of two exotic adventures.
- Donate in March for the chance to win a trip to Kauai, with roundtrip airfare, a three-night stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa with daily Anara Spa access for two, and a sunset sail adventure.
- Donate in April for the chance to win a trip to Maui, with roundtrip airfare, a three-night stay in an Ocean View Room at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, including daily breakfast for two, and a choice of two exotic adventures.
As part of the campaign, donor and blood recipient stories will be shared across Bloodworks Northwest’s digital site and media channels, providing a look into the experiences behind the blood donation. Helping share these stories is ten-time Emmy-winning TV host, reporter and visual storyteller Chris Cashman, who is producing a series of stories at eight donation centers across Washington and Oregon to showcase the campaign efforts.
“These donors’ stories deserve to be told,” said Cashman. “I am excited to partner with Bloodworks Northwest and use my platform to help share testimonials of those who have been impacted by blood donations or have rolled up their sleeves in support of the greater good.”
Join Bloodworks Northwest in expressing gratitude to the heroes who make a difference every day through blood donation. Together, lives can be saved, making a lasting impact on communities throughout the region.
