Normandy Park City Manager’s Report for week ending Feb. 28, 2025

Get ready for Arbor Day by participating in the Poster Contest

The City of Normandy Park is proud to be a Tree City. To celebrate, the City is preparing for its 4th Annual Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, April 26th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. We’ll give away free trees, host crafts, and provide environmental education. There will be an Ask the Arborist Station, stormwater education, and a new free book exchange where you can take a book or leave one! This will be a fun and educational event for the entire family.

An essential part of the festivities is the all-age art poster contest. It is wonderful to see the creativity that residents bring to their poster design, capturing the spirit of this event. This year’s contest theme is “Thrive in ’25.” The theme is designed to provide wonder and inspire a greater appreciation of the beautiful assortment of trees that make up Normandy Park’s community forest. There will be five winning entries, one from each of the following categories: preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, and adult. In addition to the prizes, entries may be used for outreach, education, and future tree-related programs and events.

Use this link to download the Poster Contest Criteria and Entry Form. Entry forms can also be found on the city website at Arbor Day Poster Contest – City of Normandy Park or by contacting City Hall at 206.248.7603. First-place winners for each category will receive a prize.

All poster entries are due to the City of Normandy Park by April 14, 2025.
