While the weather doesn’t always show it, spring is indeed here, and Marina Mercantile in Des Moines is pulling out all the stops to celebrate.
The Merc Burger is Here!
Let’s start with the food. The Merc Burger is now officially here, and it’s getting rave reviews for the delicious Royal Family beef, Macrina buns, and homemade goodies. And that’s not all – the Mercantile continues to expand its menu, recently adding freshly-made Smoked Scallop Risotto and featuring a new dinner special every week.

There’s even Sunday brunch now, with breakfast sandwiches on scratch English muffins, freshly made hollandaise sauce, and french toast, as well as a special Brunch Tea, available only on Sunday – click here to reserve.

Wine Dinner with Guest Chef Kyle Godekar
To celebrate the expanding food options, Friday April 4 will feature a WINE DINNER WITH GUEST CHEF KYLE GADEKAR. Kyle is a good friend of the Merc, and also has been consulting on the menu expansion. This night will include a choice of three courses for $49 and a selection of wines by the bottle and glass designed to match. Think Short Ribs and Spaetzle and other yummy things. Call the Merc at (206) 651-7526 to reserve your spot now.

And of course there is a special Spring Tea celebrating Ostara, the Spring Equinox. Available now through May 1, Ostara Tea features some of the most remarkable creations to yet come out of proprietor Brenda Sutherland’s kitchen, including edible “flower pots” and more! Reservations are required, just click here and tea is available Wednesday through Saturday.

Even with all this food fun, the Merc continues its community-focused events calendar. You can now count on the Merc for a wine tasting EVERY THURSDAY, and lately they have even been throwing in a tasty snack or two. And Friday April 11 will be a special cocktail tasting featuring Chelan’s own Blue Spirits Distillery, plus happy hour food specials.

Watercolor Class, Easter Egg Hunt & Return of Zooma Bella
The other fun continues as well – including a sold out Watercolor class March 26th, the Waterland Easter Egg hunt, co-sponsored by the Mercantile, and the return of Zooma Bella – Everyone’s favorite hilariously crude crooners return on April 14th at 6:30 p.m. for an incredible laugh-filled evening of song, dance, and who knows what else. Tickets are only $15 and available here.
Rain or shine, Marina Mercantile has something going on, whether you just need to drop in for a coffee or craft cocktail, or want to plan a lovely Afternoon Tea with family or friends. You won’t go hungry, and you’ll probably have some fun along the way.
