Just in time for warmer weather, the City of Normandy Park is refreshing two of its public playgrounds with new surface underlayments to improve safety and playability for local families.

The city temporarily closed the Marvista Park playground in May as crews installed new rubber surface tiles beneath the playground equipment, replacing the aging underlayment.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of the month.

Meanwhile, City Hall Park’s playground is also getting an upgrade. The city will replace the worn, ripped grassy turf with a new grassy surface underlayment, beginning around Monday, May 19, 2025, with a similar end-of-month completion goal.

Both playgrounds are scheduled to reopen by early June, just in time for the start of summer break.
