The City of Normandy Park will host a community blood drive with Bloodworks Northwest on Monday, May 11, and is encouraging residents to sign up as many appointment slots remain open.
The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. inside the Normandy Park City Council Chambers (map below).
According to event information, donors can schedule a one-hour appointment online in advance.
The drive will pause for a lunch closure from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Bloodworks Northwest notes that appointments are required to provide the best possible donation experience, and same day appointments may be available at some locations. Donors are asked to bring photo identification and are encouraged to eat a hearty meal and drink plenty of fluids before donating.
For safety, no visitors under age 16 are allowed at donation sites.
The organization is also promoting a regional incentive, with donors who give blood between April 1 and May 31 entered for a chance to win a three night trip for two to Oahu.
City officials said they hope to fill remaining openings and are encouraging community members to register in advance.
