The Normandy Park Arts Commission will present a free concert by The Whirling Winds woodwind quintet at 7 p.m. Friday, May 1, at the chapel at John Knox Presbyterian Church.

The performance is part of the city’s “Spring Into Art” program and will feature five Seattle based musicians who have performed together for more than 15 years across the Pacific Northwest.

The program includes Franz Danzi’s “Quintet in Db Major,” one of the earliest compositions written for a woodwind quintet, along with selections from the group’s recent “Taste of Sweden” performance.

The Whirling Winds were recently featured in the Nordic Heritage Museum’s chamber music series, according to the event description.

The concert will take place at the John Knox Presbyterian Church chapel, located at 109 SW Normandy Road (map below), and is open to the public at no cost.
