The City of Normandy Park Parks and Recreation Department is seeking local artists and makers to participate in art displays at the Jazz Finale Festival on Sunday, Aug. 30, at City Hall Park.

The free community event will feature an afternoon of live jazz and family-friendly activities. Artists who create original, handmade works are invited to apply, including those working in painting, photography, ceramics, jewelry, woodcraft, fiber arts, mixed media and other fine art or artisan goods.

The art market is scheduled to open at 2 p.m., with live music planned from 3 to 7 p.m. Artist load in is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m., and booth breakdown is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m.

Artists are responsible for providing their own tent, tables, chairs, display equipment and tent weights. The event will be held outdoors rain or shine.

Space is limited, and artists will be selected to provide a diverse, high quality art display and market or festival-like experience.

All artwork must be original and created by the exhibiting artist. Artwork and booth displays must be appropriate for a family friendly public event and suitable for public display. Commercial vendors, mass produced merchandise and direct sales businesses are not eligible.

There is no fee to participate. Artists may sell their artwork during the event, with all sales conducted solely between the artist and purchaser.

Interested artists should submit their name and contact information, a brief artist statement, photos of artwork and booth display if available, and optional website or social media links.

Applications are due by 9 p.m. Aug. 23.
