Normandy Park’s 14th annual Winterfest will bring a tree lighting, Santa’s rock star-style arrival by motorcade and free children’s activities to Normandy Park Towne Center on Saturday, Dec. 5, with organizers still seeking sponsors.
The outdoor celebration runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at Towne Center.
“We’re looking forward to the 14th annual Normandy Park Winterfest and hope to see you there!” organizer Susan West said in a message announcing the event.
Plans include school choirs and bands, vendor booths, food and beverages, a tree lighting, visit from Santa, a free ornament exchange and more.
Santa is scheduled to arrive in a motorcade of at least 12 vehicles. Organizers also promise free toys, candy canes and arts and crafts for children, along with snow as part of the festivities.
The celebration draws more than 3,000 people from Normandy Park, Burien, Des Moines and other communities, according to organizers. The Friends of Normandy Park Foundation organizes Winterfest with help from residents, businesses and nonprofit organizations.
