Normandy Park City Manager’s Report for week ending Feb. 9, 2024

Pet Licensing in Normandy Park

Did you know your dog needs a pet license? Purchasing a license and attaching it to your pet’s collar is one of the most important things you can do as a responsible pet owner. Displaying a current license tag on your pet’s collar makes it easy to quickly locate a lost pet’s information. It could be your pet’s ticket home, and it’s also the law.

Licensing is required for all dogs six months and older residing in the City of Normandy Park. A dog license is valid for one year from the date of issuance, expiring on the last day of the twelfth month. City residents 65 or older may purchase a special permanent license for the lifetime of a spayed/neutered pet for which they are the registered owner. To learn more about licensing and to start the process, visit the City’s website.

Normandy Park 2044 Housing Survey is Live

Housing is a fundamental building block of our communities. Our thinking on housing reflects Normandy Park’s values of security, family upbringing, local ecology, health, and community care. Our second Normandy Park 2044 Periodic Update survey focuses on housing, residency issues, affordability, economic displacement, and our role in the region. Answers will be used to envision housing options in Normandy Park that are assets to the community, comforting to long-time residents, and welcoming to new families and individuals.

Please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FJV2MCB to share your thoughts and shape how housing will look in Normandy Park. Your answers will be taken into consideration to guide potential implementation.

King Conservation District (KCD) Election Closes February 13th

KCD is holding an election for Seat #1 on the Board of Supervisors. The election is being held until February 13, 2024, and three candidates are running for the position. Candidate statements can be found at kingcd.org/elections. Voters may return ballots electronically through the online ballot access system or contact KCD for assistance. Democracy Live operates the online ballot access portal, and King County Elections will tabulate all ballots and report all results.

KCD is a special purpose district committed to helping people engage in stewardship and conservation of natural resources. It serves over two million people in 34 cities and unincorporated King County. The all-volunteer, five-member Board of Supervisors is responsible for overseeing KCD operations, budget, and policy. Voters elect three supervisors, and the Washington State Conservation Commission appoints two. I encourage you to take some time and vote in this election. For more information and to cast your ballot, visit kingcd.org/elections.
