REMINDER: Here’s where & when to splash into 2024 with a Polar Bear Plunge

REMINDER: Is there a better way to start the 2024 New Year than by splashing into water that’s cold enough to make you forget your NYE hangover? Well sure there are, but for the sake of this post, let’s all splash, shiver and scream NO WAY! Locally, there are three Polar Bear Plunges happening:

• 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Normandy Park’s 2nd annual Polar Plunge at The Cove
• 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Polar Bear Plunge at SeaTac’s Angle Lake
• 12 – 1 p.m.: Three Tree Point Polar Bear Plunge

ALTERNATE: Start in Renton at 10 a.m.!

And if you’re really into having body parts shrink due to the cold, you could even begin the day at Renton’s Polar Bear Plunge on Monday, Jan. 1, starting promptly at 10 a.m., this year at the Henry Moses Aquatic Center. NOTE: The location has been changed from Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park to Henry Moses Aquatic Center to avoid the recent presence of potentially toxic algae blooms in Lake Washington. For any and all these plunges, be sure to bring a towel and dry clothes to warm up.
